A few favorite snaps from yesterday – the perfect Sunday afternoon spent hiking, chatting and laughing with these two! I can’t wait for their wedding in October!¬†DSC_4881DSC_4994storyboard003DSC_5035storyboard002DSC_4726storyboard001

Home from a short & sweet weekend in San Diego for an Engagement session with these two! Daniel & Angelique decided to have their engagement session in San Diego where Daniel attended grad school and Angelique would frequently visit him. The magnificent Bal Boa park was one of their favorite places to go together and Oceanside beach was where he proposed – here are just a few favorites from their session!

I always appreciate a DIY wedding with thoughtful details and this was certainly one of my favorites because Kyle & Sydney are a very unique pair and really wanted their wedding to reflect who they are as a couple and it really did. They had a theme of Rustic elegance to begin with and the Rengstorff¬†house was just the perfect venue. A few of my favorite details from their day included their finds from estate sales such as a rickety baker’s pantry for the dessert bar, an old mirror for the bar menu. her DIY vintage brooch bouquet, vintage¬†suitcases for cards, their darling guest invites designed by Kyle’s dad and thumbprint tree guestbook hand drawn by Sydney’s father. For dinner they had chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits paired with collard greens and ham hocks for their love of Southern Soul food. And their music inspired by movies they love like the theme from Somewhere in Time and Moon River from Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

Beyond the details their day was filled with so much love, laughter, and signing and dancing – Sydney and Kyle’s love story began nearly ten years ago when they were working their first mall jobs at age 15 and both immediately had a crush on a each other but it wasn’t until¬†after three long years of awkward thumb-twiddling moments, that Kyle finally asked Sydney out on a date and the rest is history!
xo!

My very last engagement session of 2014, the day after Christmas with these two in San Francisco. I could not have asked for a better way to end the year with yet another sweet pair – reminding me why my job is just so wonderful. After our session, we had lunch together where I got to hear about their love story which began way back in grade school!! Well, at least for Lana – she remembers seeing Morgan in the 4th grade while hanging out with some friends and thought he was a cutie but of course they parted ways and didn’t meet again in college! Coincidentally, they went to the same University, UC Santa Cruz and met again at a party – Lana played it cool as if she had no idea who he was but they had a mutual friend who decided to play cupid and set them on a date! Fast forward several years later, Lana is now engaged to the boy she fell for many moons ago and Morgan has found the woman of his dreams!
